Presupposition Projection My linguistic research recently (as of this writing in August 2008) has focused on ways to build systems of presupposition projection that predict the projection behavior of a function from its classical, bivalent semantics. The particular theory of families I've been working in are related to Strong Kleene logic, and treat presupposition as a semantic phenomenon without direct use of dynamic machinery. The most complete discussion of these systems is my M.A. thesis (copy here), while a shorter and less rigorous treatment of a similar system can be found in the proceedings of SALT 18 (draft here). I earlier developed some related approaches in this manuscript. |
